Few things affect people the way their transportation system does. On August 14, join a free one-hour webinar about public transport and public engagement, presented by the International Association of Public Participation (IAP2) in collaboration with Rail~Volution. Join the webinar (August 14, 11 am Pacific) to hear how citizens are stepping up and how transit agencies are opening the process in new ways.

On the webinar, we’ll look at examples of the public getting engaged. Bakari Height of the MARTA Army, a citizen-advocacy group in Atlanta, Georgia, will share how his group has moved from “activism” to “actionism”; Andrew Devlin of TransLink in Metro Vancouver, BC, will show how his agency has been connecting with the people in its 2-year fare review; and we’ll learn from Larry Hiscock and Denise Butler about the health impacts of public transportation in Minneapolis, MN.
At Rail~Volution, we are pursuing collaborations like this as a way to keep the lively exchange of information from our annual transit and livability conference going year-round. We also are very happy to be able to partner with IAP2 because of their commitment to high standards in public engagement. If you are not familiar with IAP2, please take a look at their core values.
Rail~Volution brings great thinking together about every aspect of transit, related mobility options, and community development. Listen to the Rail~Volution podcast and join us for the Rail~Volution conference in Pittsburgh, October 21-24, 2018.
